What is Fresh for You? It is the next best thing to having your own garden without having to do the work. You get what you want when you want it. Unlike a CSA where you don’t know what you are getting or getting vegetables you don’t like Fresh for You grows what you like. By committing to Fresh for You, you don’t have to worry about going to a farmers’ market and not finding what you want. You don’t have to worry about weeding your own garden. Here is how it works. We custom design a garden for you raising the vegetables you like, the amounts desired, and the days or weeks you would like them. We harvest them when they are ready. You are notified and can pick your order up at our farm, our cart in Ames, or at the Ames Farmers’ Market. All you have to do is take your fresh produce home, cook and enjoy the freshest, healthiest, local grown vegetables available.

Once you sign up you can change your order or add to your order by calling or emailing us. You can also keep in touch with what is growing and being harvested by checking our website. Great if you are expecting friends or family and need extra for dinner. Fresh for You is very flexible. You can sign up to receive fresh foods weekly or just one time whatever fits your needs. It makes it good if you want to freeze or can certain vegetables or make a batch of pickles.

Our cabin was built in 1952 by Duane’s grandfather, Clyde Black. It has been an integral part of our lives for many years. In the past we have had many family functions in the cabin. Everything from 4-H, school and church groups as well as the 4th of July were celebrated. We have had many wonderful memories over the years in our log cabin. We would like you to share your events with us, making lasting memories with your family and friends.

We offer a unique experience for anniversaries, family reunions, meetings, classes or day care outings. We specialize in birthday events. We will customize your day for you.
